Perfecto Announces Free Availability of a Dedicated iOS 11 Customer Test Cloud

The pressure is on!

Apple has just released the public beta 1 for its upcoming iOS11 release expected early fall.

Smart iOS app development teams are testing this version today. Think about it, any iOS users in the market today can start exploring this new beta version. What impression will your brand’s app create?  How will your app perform?

Perfecto already announced same day support for the 1st developer preview in its cloud last month. Starting today Perfecto customers can start manual or automated app testing with our dedicated iOS11 real device cloud. Teams can proactively identify issues, regressions or begin leveraging new platform capabilities in their new upcoming app releases.

As a reminder, with iOS10 Apple changed their test automation frameworks from UIAutomation to XCUITest. These changes created challenges for Appium users. Users were required to support both frameworks as they test iOS9 devices and iOS10 and above devices. Thankfully, this was resolved with the Appium 1.6 release.

With the switch to XCUITest, customers who are taking advantage of this framework can:

  • Quickly support of new iOS releases (including iOS11)
  • Use Appium 1.6+ compatibility
  • Benefit from faster test execution
  • Explore new features (3D touch, siri injection, etc.)

If you missed my earlier post on iOS11 highlights, take a look at the article published after WWDC2017.

Perfecto recommends that customers start testing their iOS apps today on iOS11 to identify glitches, enhance their automation test code to be compliant with the latest API’s and framework changes toward continuous app user experience to their end users.
